What is Precision Wave?
Precision Wave is a non-surgical way to reduce fat, cellulite and skin laxity. It uses a 2,45 GHz “microwave” technology to reduce the appearance of cellulite while simultaneously targeting localized fat deposits in the abdomen, thighs, hips and back. It works by transferring 80% of its energy into fat tissue, as opposed to 10-20% from competing radiofrequency devices. The energy elevates tissue temperature to reach cellulite fibers and fat cells while simultaneously cooling the skin. This allows for safe and effective fat cell destruction and collagen remodeling without the need for invasive procedures. In comparison to other body contouring devices, Precision Wave targets fat more comfortably, with fewer complications than competing devices.
What to expect?
During a Precision Wave treatment, one of two smart handpieces is held to the skin and moved around in circular motions for about 12-15 minutes in each target area. The energy released generates heat to break down fat and stimulate collagen production. A sensation of heat is noted during the treatment process.
Who is a candidate for Precision Wave?
Candidates for Precision Wave are those who have fat deposits that persist despite diet and exercise and those with stubborn cellulite. Those with skin laxity may also benefit from this procedure. Precision wave can be performed on all skin types, all year round with no downtime.
When can I expect to see results?
Results appear gradually as fat is destroyed, collagen is produced, and tissue is remodeled. We recommend a series of 3-4 treatments, each spaced 1 month apart. Results of a non-invasive, no downtime procedure like Precision Wave are not as dramatic as surgery, however our experience thus far at Skin Associates is that patients who have completed a series of treatments have been very satisfied.
