Mahtab Forouzandeh, MD

Mahtab Forouzandeh, MD, MPH (“Dr. Zand”) is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.

Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Forouzandeh graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami, while enrolled in the University’s distinguished Advanced Program for Integrated Science and Math. She was awarded the Departmental Honors Award in Biological Research and went on to conduct research in the departments of Physiology, Biophysics, and Neurological Surgery.

Dr. Forouzandeh earned her Medical Doctor and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she graduated at the top of her class and was recognized for her extensive volunteer work providing medical access to underserved communities in the Caribbean. She also completed a dermatology research fellowship at the University of Miami Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Surgery. Notably, her research identifying novel inflammatory biomarkers of psoriasis and optimizing skin cancer screening using digital dermoscopy and total body photography earned her recognition in leading dermatology journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Forouzandeh completed her dermatology residency training at the University of Florida, where she served as Chief of Cosmetic Clinic and Chief of Departmental Research. During her time in residency, Dr. Forouzandeh’s dedication to excellent patient care and commitment to research earned her the University’s prestigious Academic Distinction Award and induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Dr. Forouzandeh is the author of over 50 peer-reviewed scientific publications, multiple textbook chapters, and over 20 national conference presentations.
