The American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) annual meeting was held October 3 – 6 in Chicago. The dermatologists from our Miami practice were there in full force lecturing and getting the latest on the newest aesthetic products and devices. Dr. Brandt gave a great lecture on injection techniques to a standing-room-only crowd. Dr. Green lectured on important anatomy for injectable fillers, and Dr. Kaufman did a video demonstration of injections for the jawline.
The ASDS is always a well-attended meeting bringing together the best-of-the-best in dermatologic surgery and aesthetics. Exciting news was the imminent approval of JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC, a new volumizing filler for use in the cheeks. Other buzz at the meeting was around new radiofrequency devices for tightening and ‘no-downtime’ laser rejuvenation. We could soon be at the time where we can achieve wrinkle improvement using lasers without any considerable recovery time. Part of this armamentarium includes our already-available Palomar Emerge and Clear + Brilliant® ‘mini’ fractional lasers.
